Open pocket
The Open pocket function generates the machining for an open pocket. The pocket may have a maximum of 1 opening.
Generate machining of an open pocket
- Under Milling > Manual > Free pocket, click the Open pocket button.
- All elements are highlighted in colour.
- Use the left mouse button to select the start element of the contour for the pocket. This is one of the elements at the opening. To do this, click near the starting point of the contour on the side where you want to generate the operation.
- If the further course of the contour is unclear, select the subsequent element with the left mouse button.
- Use the left mouse button to generate a polyline that runs outside the outer contour and closes the opening of the pocket. Also take the tool diameter into account.
- The Pocket machining parameters dialogue box opens. See also Pocket machining parameters dialogue box.
- Configure your desired settings.
- Click on OK.
- The machining of the pocket is generated and displayed.
