Tool management

You can use the Tool management function to manage tools and tool lists. Tools and tool lists can be added, changed and deleted.

Change tool

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list in which the tool is generated and click OK.
  1. Select the tool category to which the tool is assigned and click OK.
  1. Select the tool and click Change.
  1. Configure your desired settings and click OK.
  • The tool data are changed.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The function is ended.

Add tool

These instructions apply only to the addition of a standard tool. To add a tool to the categories Special shape, Forming and Embossing, see the Add special tool instructions.

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list to which the tool is to be added and click OK.
  1. Select the tool category to which the tool should be assigned and click Add.
  1. Enter the required dimensions for the geometry and at least one ID number and station type.
  1. Configure your desired settings and click OK.
  • The tool is generated.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The function is ended.

Copy tool / special tool

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list in which the tool is located and click OK.
  1. Select the tool category and click OK.
  1. Select the tool to be copied and click Copy.
  • The tool is copied.
  1. Configure your desired settings and click OK.
  • The tool is generated.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The function is ended.

Add special tool: Use existing special shape

These instructions only apply to adding a tool to the categories Special shape, Forming and Embossing.

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list to which the tool is to be added and click OK.
  1. Select the tool category Special shape, Forming or Embossing and click Add.
  1. Select the basic shape for the new tool and, if necessary, the angular position.
  1. Enter the required dimensions for the geometry and at least one ID number and station type.
  1. Configure your desired settings and click OK.
  • The tool is generated.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The function is ended.

Add special tool: Generate new special shape

These instructions only apply to adding a tool to the categories Special shape, Forming and Embossing.

  • The shape of the tool is available in the opened CAD model.
  • The zero point of the CAD model corresponds to the stroke point of the tool.
  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list to which the tool is to be added and click OK.
  1. Select the tool category Special shape, Forming or Embossing and click Add.
  1. Select the Special shape entry and click OK.
  1. Choose an element selection function and select the geometry of the tool accordingly.
  1. Click on Close.
  1. Configure your desired settings and enter at least an ID number and a station type.
  1. Click OK.
  • The tool is generated.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The function is ended.

Add special tool via a graphic

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select your desired tool file and click OK.
  1. Select your desired special tool and click OK.
  1. Click Add.
  1. Select Special shape and click OK.
  1. Select a function for element selection.
  1. Select according to the geometry for which the special tool is to be created.
  1. Click on Close.
  1. Make your desired settings.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Select your desired station and click OK.
  • The new special tool is marked.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The special tool is added.

Transfer tools

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list in which the tool is generated and click OK.
  1. Select the tool category to which the tool is assigned and click OK.
  1. Select the tools to be transferred and click Transfer.
  1. Select the check box for the tool lists to which the tools are to be transferred and click OK.
  • The tools are transferred.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  1. Click OK.
  • The function is ended.

Delete tool

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list in which the tool is generated.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Select the tool category to which the tool is assigned.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Select the tool.
  1. Click on Delete.
  1. Select the check box for Delete tool.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The tool is deleted.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The function is ended.

Change the designation of a tool list

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select your desired tool list.
  1. Click Change.
  • A dialogue box for assigning a designation opens.
  1. Change the designation as desired.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The designation is changed.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The function is ended.

Add tool list

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Click Add.
  • A dialogue box for assigning a designation opens.
  1. Enter a designation for the tool list.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Configure your desired settings.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The new tool list is listed.
  1. If you want to add tools to the new tool list or change or delete tools, continue with the corresponding instructions.
  1. Click Back.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The function is ended.

Copy tool list

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select the tool list to be copied and click Copy.
  • A dialogue box for assigning a designation opens.
  1. Enter a name for the copy of the tool list and click OK.
  1. Select an option and click OK.
  • If the Tool files dialogue box opens: The tool list has been copied with all the tools it contains. Continue with step 8.
  1. If you want to restrict the following display of tools, select a tool category.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Select the tools to be copied to the new tool list and click OK.
  • The new tool list is listed.
  1. If you want to add tools to the new tool list or change or delete tools, continue with the corresponding instructions.
  1. Click Back.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The function is ended.

Delete tool list

  1. Under Config > Machines > Tool management, click the Tool management button.
  1. Select your desired tool list.
  1. Click on Delete.
  1. Select the check box for Delete tool list.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The tool list is deleted.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The function is ended.
