Z contour

The Z contour function is used to generate a contour-controlled machining in the Z direction on a source element.

Prerequisites of the geometry:

  • The source element must be positioned so that the machining can be generated in the X direction. Usually at a 0 degree angle.
  • The contour that determines the Z profile (Z contour) must be located above the source element.
  • Source element and Z contour must be left-aligned.
  • The reference point and the part must be left-aligned.

Generate machining in Z direction

  • The geometrical requirements are fulfilled.
  • A suitable tool for the machining is available.
  1. Under Milling > Manual > Z contour, click the Z contour button.
  1. Configure your desired settings.
  1. Click on OK.
  1. Select one after the other with the left mouse button:
    - the reference point
    - the Z contour
    - the appropriate source element for the machining
    - the side on which the machining is to be generated
  1. Select the appropriate tool for the previously made entries in the Popup Z contour machiningdialogue box.
  1. Click on OK.
  • The machining is generated.
