Pivatic trim parameters dialogue box

Top sheet edge trim parameters

With this option, the shears for trimming are located at the upper edge of the sheet.

Bottom sheet edge trim parameters

With this option, the shears for trimming are located at the lower edge of the sheet.

Positioning strokes

Set positioning strokes

The setting of positioning strokes is activated here. Positioning strokes are set in order to obtain an even contact edge for the adjustment stops of the shears.

Tool ID

The ID of the tool used for the positioning strokes is entered here. The value can be entered in the input field or selected in the Tools dialogue box, which opens with the .. button. See also Tools dialogue box.

Depth in Y

Here, the dimension of the machining in the Y direction starting from the edge of the sheet is entered.

Length in X

The dimension of the machining in the X direction is entered here. If the dimension is larger than the X dimension of the tool, several individual strokes are made with a minimum overlap of 1 mm.

Strokes for the shears

Asymmetrical

This option sets the positioning strokes starting from the front edge of the sheet in the X direction at the following positions.

Position A

Here, position A is entered in the X direction. This stroke is always set.

Position B

Position B in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the width of the sheet is greater than B+25 and less than C.

Position C

Position C in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the width of the sheet is greater than C+25 and smaller than D.

Position D

Position D in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the sheet is larger than D+25 and smaller than E in the X direction.

Position E

Position E in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the sheet is larger than E+25 and smaller than F in the X direction.

Position F

Here, you enter position F in the X direction. This stroke is set when the sheet is larger than F+25 in the X direction.

Strokes for the shears

Symmetrical

This option sets the positioning strokes symmetrically starting from the centre of the sheet. The following positional data specify the distance between the 2 positioning strokes of the respective position.

Position A

Here, position A is entered in the X direction. This stroke is set when the sheet is larger than A+50 and smaller than B+50 in the X direction.

Position B

Position B in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the sheet is larger than B+50 and smaller than C+50 in the X direction.

Position C

Position C in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the sheet is larger than C+50 and smaller than D+50 in the X direction.

Position D

Position D in the X direction is entered here. This stroke is set when the sheet is greater than D+50 in the X direction.

Offset (-/+)

The value by which the axis of symmetry is shifted from the centre of the sheet is entered here.

Punch residual area

Punch residual area

Here, you activate the punching of the remaining area. If the shears are shorter than the X dimension of the sheet, they cannot trim the full length. The remaining protrusion is therefore punched before shearing.

Shears length

The shears length is preset and cannot be changed here.

Shears protrusion

Here, you enter how far the surface to be punched should overlap the shear cut in the X direction.

Minimum protrusion above

Here, you enter how far the punching tool should work beyond the edge of the sheet.

Minimum width

The minimum width that must be punched is entered here. If the calculated width of the cutting area is smaller, the minimum width is punched.
