Tool type

The type of tool is selected here.

ID number

The identification number of the tool is entered here. This can also be generated automatically using the Calculate button. The Alias button opens the Tool alias dialogue box, in which further alias ID numbers can be entered for the existing ID number. See also: Tool alias dialogue box.

Designation

A designation can be entered here or automatically generated from the geometry dimensions using the Calculate button.

Comment

A comment can be entered here.

Station number

The station number is selected here.

Station type

The station type is selected here.

Symmetry

Here, you select the angle at which the tool is symmetrical.

Material group

Here, you select the material group for which the tool may be used. The material group can be selected via the drop-down field or via the .. button.

Geometry

The geometry of the tool is defined in more detail here. Depending on the selected tool type, different dimensions must be entered here. Additionally, the size, area and circumference of the tool are displayed.

Mounting position

Here, you determine the position in which the tool is installed in the station. There are fixed angles and the option Any to choose from, in which any angle can be entered in the Angle input field.

Parameters

Depending on the selected tool type, various parameters can be set here to specify in more detail the tool or the conditions under which the tool is to be used.

Preferred

Here, you activate that the tool is preferred to an identical tool with a different tool type.

Locked

A lock is activated for further use of the tool here.

Multiple tool

The tool is marked as a Multiple tool here.

Extraction

The extraction is activated for the use of the tool here.

Hold-down device

The hold-down device is activated for the use of the tool here.

Stroke delay

The delay of the stroke after reaching the stroke position is activated here.

Breakage control

Here, you activate that a regular check for breakage of the tool takes place.

Depending on the selected tool type, various parameters can be set here.

TDC (mm)

The upper dead point for the tool is entered here.

BDC (mm)

The lower dead point for the tool is entered here.

M command start

M commands can be entered here that the machine should execute when the tool is started.

M command finish

M commands can be entered here that the machine should execute when the tool is finished.

PDC magazine number

The number of the magazine in which the tool is located in the PDC tool changer from Amada is entered here.

Die number

The number of the corresponding die is entered here.

Station number

The number of the station where the tool is inserted in a tool turret is entered here.

Difference angle

 

Dwell time before stroke (sec)

Here, you enter the time period after which the stroke is executed after reaching the stroke position.

Dwell time after stroke (sec)

Here, you enter how long the stroke position is maintained after the stroke.

Global parameters

Depending on the selected tool type, various parameters can be set here.

Min thickness (mm)

The minimum material thickness that may be machined with the tool is entered here.

Max thickness (mm)

The maximum material thickness that may be machined with the tool is entered here.

Cutting clearance (mm)

 

Forming height (mm)

The height of the forming that is created with this tool is specified here.

Safety zone (mm)

The radius of the safety zone for forming is entered here. In the safety zone, no processing is permitted that could damage the forming process. NOTICE! The safety zone is only effective if a forming height is specified.

Feed per stroke (mm)

Here, you enter how far to travel after each stroke.
